Gulf Dead Zone
I am beginning to believe those in charge do not want to plug the oil pipe gushing into the gulf of mexico. Apparently there have been many innovations that could have been deployed but were not which would be much more environmentally friendly than using dispersants. How come they could not use magnets or electromagnets to seal the pipe? I have many unanswered questions. And when there are town hall meetings along nw florida about half the people want to drill more in the gulf. Its insane. This catastrophy should have been averted by bringing together all the assets we have in the entire world because it has worldwide implications. Instead we let the perpetrators botch up the cleanup. This event is an act of war. It was perpetrated on all living creatures of the planet. Is is not about the oil or money it is about pure destruction and the culling of the planet. If time travel was real this would be the time to try it out.

Re: Gulf Dead Zone
This is turning into quite a mess, and I think it will get much worse. I really don't know how they are going to plug it up, it's a mile down and there is no easy way to reach it. BP says a methane bubble popped their rig - I don't know if this is actually anyone's fault thru negligence but if it were I would want the responsible severely punished if I lived down there.
Maybe they could actually find a use for demolition nukes here - such a device might be able to collapse the seabed and seal the well, though I think you would have to be careful not to do any further damage to the oilfield below lest it spring some more leaks. BFT, what can you add to this idea? Feasible or crazy?

Re: Gulf Dead Zone
Forgive me if I missed a detail somewhere as I'm kinda just skimming, but I thought they plugged up the pipe with a giant "stopper", connected to a 4" pipe that sucks the oil out?
By the way, who's paying for all this?

From what I'm reading BP (BTW, they are paying initially for all this) is working down a list of solutions. I have no doubt explosives are somewhere down on the list. I imagine they were hoping to salvage the field since it still produces.ssuser wrote: Maybe they could actually find a use for demolition nukes here - such a device might be able to collapse the seabed and seal the well, though I think you would have to be careful not to do any further damage to the oilfield below lest it spring some more leaks. However, I also imagine desperation has kicked in fully and ANYTHING that will stop it is now going to take center stage.

BP just needs a Big Tampon, the challenge will be not to get it wet till inserted.Xtreme wrote:I suggest a giant wad of used Bubblicious bubble gum.Blunt Force Trauma wrote:However, I also imagine desperation has kicked in fully and ANYTHING that will stop it is now going to take center stage.

All truth goes through three stages:
•First it is ridiculed

LOL, epic idea for a tampon commercial.Dx. wrote:BP just needs a Big Tampon, the challenge will be not to get it wet till inserted.
They are always making tampon commercials showing them undergoing all these leak tests, like putting it under the Niagra falls and putting a kitten under the pad/tampon and having the cat come out dry, so I don't see why they can't put some in that pipe.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
The DEEPWATER HORIZON sinking caused twisted 21 inch riser piping to start leaking in three places at 5,000 feet in the Gulf Seabed. Sadly the proven methods to STOP THE LEAK still have not been used since 042010 until today at 052010 for reasons unknown. BP, Governor of Florida and Governor of LA were all given, along with the President, the Counter Pressure Plug information from a UK inventor Branko R. Babic as he invented same in 1991 for Kuwait Oil Fires above the ground and they will work underwater with ROV welding special thick steel tubes with washers to be welded to the interior while the tubes allow full flow of gas, oil, water through tubes into the gulf.
ROV's can be used to WELD UNDERWATER the 5 inch thick washers compressed with thick rubber washers against the inside pipe sealing off all leaking oil, gas and water while the straight through pipe could take the contents flowing through to the TOP of the sea into barges. Keep in mind the CPP with flow pipe has a BALL VALVE wheel operated to shut down the flow and BP could then try to seal the BOP stopping the leak entirely.
BP and Horizon personnel reviewing the messages since 041610 first started denying the idea had merit and they put a straw type pipe six inches inside with rubber flaps then started drawing OFF oil and gas from ONE LEAKING AREA but BP refused to consider the CPP Invention of Branko R. Babic or suggestion to use a "JET SWET' type invention to seal the big pipe and allow the small pipe to function until welded in place then the BALL VALVE WOULD SHUT DOWN THE WELL SO THEY COULD TRY TO USE THE BOP TO SEAL.
What is ODD is a survivor who was the Chief Electronics Technician KNEW the BOP annular was damaged weeks earlier and that the rubber had come up through the piping and was shown to proper supervisors. Also the BOP ELECTRICAL MODULE was damaged plus a battery problem prevented the BOP from shutting down at the time of the alleged ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT causing the disaster. Sounds like CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE CAUSING THE DEATH OF 11 MEN AND RISKING 115 OTHERS that has to be investigated.
I am, as a Professional Plumbing Contractor and former Welder, amazed that BP ignored the requests to use an 8 hour window to make and test the CPP and CPP with piping and ball valve then STOP THE LEAK since 042610 through today 052010. More amazing is the failure of the United States President and others to TAKE OVER THE SITE IN THE INTERESTS OF NATIONAL SECURITY UNTIL EVERYTHING IS REMOVED FROM THE SEA BED AND CONFIRMATION OF CRIMINAL ACTS OR TERRORISM IF NOT MURDER ARE CONFIRMED.
The BP people have been paid an insurance POLICY OF HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS without any proof the damage was an ACCIDENT or even covered events with knowledge of BOP or other problems ignored.
Anyone desiring a COPY OF PDF'S CONFIRMING FAILURE OF BP to act send an e-mail to backflow2@verizon.net asking for same and it will arrive.
I just finished sending e-mails to everyone and LABEOC on how to siphon OFF THE OIL AND WATER then separate the OIL from water and store the OIL in barges using special equipment known to work for SKIMMING OIL. PRAY FOR FLORIDA, GULF COAST AND EAST COAST OF AMERICA PLUS ISLANDS !

Re: Gulf Dead Zone
As long as they have a deep sea submersible with a manipulator arm that will go that deep they could have cut off the busted pipe just above the sea floor and capped it within less than a week. A stainless steel cone with a valve on top and outriggers sticking out the sides at the bottom of the cone could have been set over the pipe by a ship with a crane and the submersible. Then they could have placed a much larger sleeve around the cone on top of the outriggers and pumped it full of concrete to hold it all firmly in place on the seafloor. That would allow them to shut off the valve then come back later and connect a pipe to it, then open the valve and use the oil. (if they couldn't pump it full of concrete then they could set large chunks of it around the cone.)
It was obvious beforehand that what they have tried so-far would not work.
The way that corporate and government scientists over-analyze things to the point that this environmental disaster has been allowed to continue while they try this and try that only confirms to me the fact that geniuses are very nearly a class of total morons.
The fact that what goes on in Hollywood these days has drawn more media attention than this disaster confirms to me that the media and probably most of the general public in this country are a bunch of total morons.
Of course this is all just my opinion I guess I am just slinging mud at the problem sort of like what BP has done so far.

Plan A: Fail
Plan B: Fail
Plan C: Fail
Plan D: Fail
Plan E: ???
Plan F: Panic
Also, an interesting statistic I heard...
The amount of oil that has been spilled out in the last 41 days is the same amount of oil that American motorists collectively burn through in 5 minutes.

US burns through 226 barrels of oil per second so 5,000 barrels will fuel the US for 22 seconds - about 15 minutes worth (or 4 minutes of global use) of oil has been spilled so far.Xtreme wrote:The amount of oil that has been spilled out in the last 41 days is the same amount of oil that American motorists collectively burn through in 5 minutes.

After looking at the videos, it's hard to believe the spill is only 5,000 barrels a day.

Re: Gulf Dead Zone
You know what works to soak up oil amazingly well?
Hay.
And hay floats. so after the oil is soaked up you can collect the hay and use it in incinerators.
