There seem to be so many simple solutions to cleaning up this mess... and also many to have capped it in the first place.
It would disgust me if the slow movement to get anything done was based on BP's pride alone, but I can't figure out what the motive might be for making such a huge mess in the first place.

I say BP should hire the 25 million illegals in the country to clean up the oil. ;) Instant work visas for all! And send them home when the job is done.

I thought the last official guess at the number of illegals was over 12,000,000.
They said that was pretty accurate.
They also said that over 10 percent of those were hardened criminals in the countries that they came from. Murderers, rapist, and such.
That's over 1.2 million hardened criminals roaming the streets that our government has no record of whatsoever.
Really makes me want to put any faith in our government.
And then they complain when Arizona takes matters into their own hands.
As if I give a damn about what politicians in Washington think is "politically correct".
My big question about this oil spill mess is how much money have the higher-up politicians in this country been slipped under the table by BP to be so leanient with them.
This countries President should have told BP from the beginning that they have 2 weeks to stop the spill completely or the job would be taken over by the Navy at BPs expense and that they would pay for every cent of the work that had to be done from capping the leak to cleaning up every ounce of oil in the gulf.
Instead they will come up with some half-assed solution and the people in this country will pay for it for generations to come in tax dollars and a lousy environment.

Well. . . it looks like large quantities of high explosives and a nuke thrown in for good measure may be a growing possibility.

There is also some concern that nuking the floor will open up more fissures.
Can't imagine that irradiating a chunk of the ocean would be good either. Anyone sent in afterwords to clean up would end up like the Ukranian Mandroids of the Black Triangle.

The nuke is not on top of the well, it's supposed to go down the well 18,000 feet and when it explodes it melts the rock into glass, sealing the leak with no radiation that would reach the surface and it's said to be 100% effective an expert said last week.
