Strategy games....

Hey gang.

The number of strategy games is on the rise. some old time players have popped in recently.

Jose, and DD40 have been on in the last couple of days

DD40 was showing a friend the BZ, when I popped into his game.

{911}Shogun will be along shortly, I'm sure.

I do miss the old days though. playing until 3:30 am with guys from Germany, Australia and Japan.

There simply is nothing like BZ that I've ever found. I always seem to return to it, much to my wife's chagrin.


now if somebody would just fix agoraphobia, we'd be set. cmdr. wayne are you listening?

Emm... what's wrong with agoraphobia?

Frozen Dead needs fixing too. One day maybe i'll get on that. You want a good four hour game, that's your map. ;)

I dunno about agoraphobia...can't remember the last time i played that map. :)
But in Frozen Dead there are some edges where AI units will simply plummet into the abyss....you lose the pilot and the unit slot.

Gets annoying on longer games when you lose scavs and offensive units....I've even lost a constructor that way.

Would be nice if the edge_path worked on the AI too.

When you are on the spiral roads coming off the plateaus<sp> there are some pits that will eat your scavs and other units.

also the same problem exists on along the base.

i know that the problem occurs at the host spawn point and the second player spawn point. Firbirgir and I both had units in the abyss. :(

greatly shortened our game. and it explained why I had 6 scavs but NO scrap!!!

Sounds like i can do something to stop it but many 3rd party maps could have the same issues and i don't want to have to fix them all. I'll see what i can do on them before the next release, i'll have to update the map pack anyhow.

I'm working on getting cmdr wayne to fix agoraphobia.

it is a really fun map if you could avoid the spirals of doom.

perhaps those little pylons could be put in place? instead of a major edit session.

All that would need done is add terrain blocks so the ai doesn't go there.

Wish I knew more about map editing...Blue dabbled in it, but I never got into it at all. :mrgreen:

Yeah, just edit the map to remove the pits of doom and it would be much better... The scavs will occasionally fall off the outside, which is hilarious to watch one tumbling through the air, but they recover and continue to work. The pits are the pits...

I told scrappy put some water in and make a sign "Scavy wading area"! hehe

I used beacons to keep them out of hte pit when i was testing that the other day with Dx

the thing is not all of the pits are the same.


I'm working on hypnotizing cmdr. wayne to fixing it and adding some scrap cubes.

for some epic battles in the middle of the map.
