Ken, can you expand bz joystick bindings?

That too, maybe some macro support for binding other buttons.

dude....
The chick with the gun belts and mickey mouse ears is just...well kind of weird. some sort of weird american fantasy. (outsider perspective, and i'm not saying ALL americans, but you have all the iconography there).
And the swimmer is scary. I'm amazed at how synchronized swimmers can look rather pretty dry, but throw them in the pool with that industrial waterproof makeup and faces like...well that one, and holy s**t. scary.
Anyway, back on topic.... one of the old hitchcocks, "scotty," swore by the nostromo. Blue tried it, and hated it. But additional mouse/joystick support options would be great. if at all possible.

Yes, the quality was average, but certainly the Logitech Interceptor is in the top 3 joystick designs ever.
3 hats with 8 buttons on each. Secondary trigger under main trigger with a left and right button. 4 buttons and throttle on the base.Thumb and middle finger buttons as well. That's 32 programmable buttons. It also offers the option of holding down the shift key, to double the programmable settings to 64.
Man I wish XP supported it.

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
I was going to add support for the Xbox 360 controller (since I have one
) a while back, but found that the input system is much harder to extend than the BZ2 version. I'll see what I can do about it, though.

The PS3 controller is quite simple to get to work on the PC, would it still complicated to implement like the 360 controller?

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
I tried getting my PS3 controller to work with BZ and it didnt' really work that well. Had to install a couple of programs to get my PC to recognize it properly finally but in BZ I couldn't map it properly.Sno wrote:The PS3 controller is quite simple to get to work on the PC, would it still complicated to implement like the 360 controller?

The PS3 controller is very nice, but Sony sure doesn't make it easy to use on the PC.

No they don't. And compared to the xbox controller it's a dream. Nothing ergonomic about the xbox controller at all

I prefer the Logitech F710. Same layout as an Xbox/Playstation controller, but much more ergonomically designed, comfortable to hold, and uses DirectInput as well as XInput. Much more versatile.

While I need to come up with a more general solution, I did add support for the Xbox 360 controller.

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
I think you can use xinput for a PS3 controller, making the computer believe it is actually an xBox controller. Not tried it myself, as I don't have either, so I could be completely wrongSno wrote:The PS3 controller is quite simple to get to work on the PC, would it still complicated to implement like the 360 controller?

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
The Logitech F710 looks very promising. Sounds like it might work well with all the BZ variations.

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
Got it for about £40 a few months back, it's been fantastically reliable and beautifully versatile ever since. Be wary of the software you get with it though, it's nowhere near as good as some of the other stuff out there - XPadder being my personal favourite as it has shift-key functionality, which is ideal for Battlezone games.

Re: Joystick profile support, what can be done?
It doesn't beat keyboard and mouse, but it's definitely playable.

Nothing beats keyboard and mouse aside from the inside of a Grizzly's cockpit.
