A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion

Wow. I guess I hadn't really thought about it. That's a lot.

Almost looks like some kind of digital code being sent to our galactic neighbors at one point at the height of it all.

Not as many, I don't think. "Testing" tapered off near the end. You'd think that after 2000+ bombs we'd be pretty sure they work and yes, they destroy things.

Maybe they just liked to blow them up cause i don't think there's a good reason for 2053 tests.

Two attacks, probably a few accidents. This counts things like Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Chernobyl as well.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are counted early on, for sure. Don't think Chernobyl counts as an "explosion."

I think the map was specifically detonations, but I could be wrong.

That's messed up but it does show you can't march into the America's and take over without a smackdown. You're welcome Canada.

Side note: I posted the 'Three Mile Island' Documentary , I taped it awhile back . Jimmy Carter was the chits and all that but I would like too see Barack Obama do what he did.

View Here Three Mile Island.

"You're welcome"? For what?

Nobody wants Canada. It gets too cold.

Besides, if someone wanted to invade/takeover the U.S.... what does that have to do with us? :)

Don't get all bent , you're right nobody cares about Canada. Back to your post. If you believe for one minute that if it wasn't for the US , people on your iceberg wouldn't be speaking German or Jap by now your a lost cause. Simply ask a few people from Austria , Belgium , France , Netherlands , Yugoslavia and Greece to name a few what playing nice does when it comes to dealing with a mad man in power.

You're also forgetting a little thing called the cold war. A lot of these nukes were being tested during this time. Smaller payload for a bigger bang too detour the USSR.

Hehe alright alright take it easy.

But if it was all about stopping a madman what took you guys so long to join the party?

Also: serious doubts Japan would have ever invaded north America. They wanted Hawaii but wouldn't have stood a chance attacking mainland.

And you already want our s**t! :) you get plenty of oil and wood and water from us now and you're a couple of years away from challenging our sovereignty in the Arctic circle. Once that ice is gone there'll be huge disputes over the ownership there.

I'm not forgetting the cold war. I know that's why there were so many nukes on either side....but then everyone else joined in. :)

Hitler declared war on us first. One of many mistakes he made. The other big one was thinking that if he did , the Japs would declare war on Russia hence freeing up his troops in the east to fight on the western front. If he had not have done this I see little chance Roosevelt could have got the people behind him in invading Africa.
Also: serious doubts Japan would have ever invaded north America. They wanted Hawaii but wouldn't have stood a chance attacking mainland.
There was no defense here at that time. Paw with a scatter gun on the porch was about it. Attacks on North America during World War II It's not like they didn't try.
And you already want our sh**! you get plenty of oil and wood and water from us now and you're a couple of years away from challenging our sovereignty in the Arctic circle. Once that ice is gone there'll be huge disputes over the ownership there.
I don't want nothing from you people , let's get that straight now. You sound like you hate big business as bad as I do.

That's almost as bad as Barack Obama telling the American people when he invaded Libya without our or Congress's approval that we have a coalition force from hell and will not go it alone. The first day we fired millions and what Britain fired two missiles ? Costs of Libya Operation ( Day One ) Everyone wants our money sounds a lot like my ex-wife.

The shipping route that opened up is wanted.

It may have something to do with Canadian troops at some point, who knows.

Is that why the U.S. waited so long to jump into the war? By the time they did Hitler had stretched his troops thin and he was getting a little too ambitious too fast.

Lol yes. They did try but they didn't do so well, did they?

I guess I do dislike 'big business' a great deal. Not like they haven't earned that scorn. Of course I don't mean you personally. You know what I mean.

Yeah the U.S. went ape-s**t but here we are and Quadafi (take your pick of the dozen or so spellings) is still there. It's a mess all around. Although, I don't see what that has to do with the cold war. And when I said "everyone else joined in" I meant the nuclear arms race. Everyone's trying to beat the Jones', eh?

Yes, that route is wanted. No one wanted that territory and it wasn't disputed until it became obvious that it was melting fast. Now the UN wants Canada to prove that we have a history of ownership. Christ.
I guess the three Canadian territories that make up the artic circle don't count?

Canada has maintained a presence in the arctic for as long as I can remember. Canadian troops regularly do patrols there, and there are also Inuit militia troopers.

By the time the USA had stepped in, Hitler's downfall was on the way anyway. He had, as hitchcock said, spread himself too thin. Some clever work by the RAF convinced the Luftwaffe that there was a massive air force in reserve in Britain when in fact almost every last plane was in the sky. That kept him out of there, his attempts to move into Russia were forced back by hostile conditions, there were very few other places to go. Ultimately, the one thing that causes the downfall of a force spread so wide is the fact that it is so.

Also, the attack against Gadaffi was sanctioned by the UN in a resolution proposed by France, Lebanon, and the UK. Obama hasn't done anything wrong in following a UN resolution. The vote went 10/5/0. Most of Europe is all in, backed by various others including the Arab League. Doesn't make it right, but it can't realistically be pinned on Obama.

Precisely. Russia had tremendous losses in WW2, but Hitler trying to invade was a catastrophic mistake.

Also: yes.
There are a half dozen Islamic countries in the Middle East going through revolutions of various degrees. Why pick Libya over any other?
The conspiracy theorist in me says that there is a lot of CIA debauchery going on there, and if you poke around you see some strange s**t going on...or was going on. I've stopped paying attention. :)

The reason he was on his way down was a little thing we American taxpayers called the Lend -Lease Act Britain was dead without our liberty ships and bravery of thousands of dead seamen. Russia and China would not have stood without the enormous amount of tanks , planes etc we sent them. Russia was done , beat down before we stepped in to help , that simple. Know your history.
Also, the attack against Gadaffi was sanctioned by the UN in a resolution proposed by France, Lebanon, and the UK. Obama hasn't done anything wrong in following a UN resolution. The vote went 10/5/0. Roflmao , yeah the incorruptible UN. But it makes it right when we carry the bill and all the war mongers in Europe sit back and hate us for fighting their war.
