Battlezone 1.5 Portable Edition [Updated 23-11-2011: RC15]

Basically it's bz 1.5 but portable.
Created, as was BzEPortable, using the PortableApps framework.

You can download it here.

Full screen, yes.
DEP issues? No.

Other than that...have fun. I'll update it as Ken releases updates.

I've tinkered around with ini file that is supposed to handle command line arguments for the executable, but since it passes directly to the executable rather than through a shortcut arguments won't work.

So for the foreseeable future, the portable edition will be full screen.
Of course, you could also just make a direct shortcut to the executable with the proper command line arguments....

Yeah, I haven't posted in a long time. I do try to keep my BZ 1.5 installation updated so I come back to get the updates in the hope that it'll finally be finished and the community, what's left of it, will migrate over and leave 1.4 for good.

Thx for fixing the link again. I was going to ask what BZ 1.5 Portable is, but based on what I see launching the installer, it's a jump drive edition of BZ, playable from the drive. That'll come in handy when I visit my grandkids and try to convince them (again) to give BZ a try.

Technically speaking, BZ is portable anyway, since you can just copy the game directory to a flash drive.
I created this version for other reasons and I'm glad people are finding it useful.

I've been gone a few months - moving houses, PC unavailable - living on my iPhone. But, that said, it's funny to see someone talking about getting their grandkids to play. We're truly a bunch of old farts!

Yea I have done that for years, spreading the seed.

Also DD40, don't for get about Battlezone Enhanced. It holds somewhere around 40-50% of the remaining community of players.

I have a hell of a time scaring up a game in BZE. I'd prefer to play it, but I prefer to play, period, rather than waiting all night for no game in BZE.

Like you don't have to wait for a game anywhere else, Bz is slow for everyone in the summer.
