I saw this. They recommend changing your password. My original password was pretty damned strong, but regardless i replaced it with another. Fortunately I have no credit card info stored on my steam account (I only have free or gifted games on it).

Thanks for the heads up. I use Steamguard and a secret question. To compromise my steam account,someone would have to first compromise my email account and know my secret question/answer. You don't want to rely on a password alone if you have the option.

The security steps you take are good, Hitch, but what if your bank is the one compromised? You don't hear about it often but I've had two banks inform me of lost account information. Luckily, they were either old banks that I don't use anymore or banks where I may have a credit card but no bank account.

I had my information compromised on my business account and it was corrected in 24 hours with no loss to me. Banks are getting much better at spotting fraud and shutting down accounts before too much damage is done. Of course, this isn't true for all banks...

I use a credit union, not a bank, and my credit card is not associated with it.

Make your password repeat once and it'll make it MUCH harder to crack.

Ie, ImAPassword = ImAPasswordImAPassword

It's even harder if only certain characters repeat.
