Whoa bud, whoa. I can celebrate Christmas twice.... December 25th and January 7th. Certainly not in November. 8)

Just didn't want to be a month late this time...
I did some reseach and found that Thanksgiving (for you) is an annual Canadian holiday to give thanks at the close of the harvest season, occurring on the second Monday in October (since 1957), I really wasn't aware that you guys celebrated this.

Has your Thanksgiving turkey been sacrificed to idols?
As you sit down with your family on Thanksgiving and consider offering a prayer of gratitude, be aware the turkey at the center of the table may have already been “blessed” – in the name of Allah.

Customer service representatives from Butterball, one of America’s most popular Turkey brands, confirmed to WND that the company’s whole turkeys are – without being labeled as such – slaughtered according to Islamic “halal” standards.

“Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, ‘Bismillah allahu akbar’ – ‘in the name of Allah the greatest,’” explains Pamela Geller, author of “Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.” “Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds. Many Christians, Hindus or Sikhs and Jews find it offensive to eat meat slaughtered according to Islamic ritual.”

She continues on her blog, Atlas Shrugs, “I don’t want to eat halal. Not a bite – and yet this is being shoved down the throats of Americans without their knowledge.”

•Then it is violently opposed
•Finally it is widely accepted as self evident

Who cares? Can you taste prayer? Yeah, me neither.

As an atheist I could be offended by kosher food as well but what difference does it actually make?
None.

I actually like middle-eastern food. Afghan is particularly good. It hardly means you support terrorism or some ridiculous notion. Considering America's constitution guarantees religious freedom and a separation of church and state and that the country was founded by immigrants (I have some friends who'd call them 'illegals' :) ) I don't care who slaughters my turkey. Just so long as they don't come to my door with pamphlets while I'm cooking it.

Being an Athiest, you may not understand why Muslims want their food to be Halel prepared or Jews wanting Kosher or why giving Kosher to a Muslim or Halel to a Jew might upset them...

It's a religious thing all the way around.

Actually, Halal preparation and Kosher preparation of food is nearly identical. The same method of bleeding the turkey out through the neck is used in both. The only difference is the religion behind the killing (or if you really want to break it down, a difference in wardrobe and chosen words by those blessing the food).
But more importantly, Islamic law states that for poultry to be certified as Halal, the birds have to be killed individually, not en masse. Do you think Butterball is really doing this? I don't.
Therefore I sincerely doubt that the turkeys actually are Halal at all. The only way they are likely Halal is in the marketing, so as to appeal to Islamic families celebrating the holiday or even just buying the product.

It's Americans like these that give your country a bad name. I mean, seriously, should we give a s**t?

There are some that believe Christianity is the religion of America, but that would betray the Constitution, would it not? A Melting Pot society shouldn't be exclusive.
The article comes across alarmist and ill-informed.
