Let's keep our hopes up.

Major breakthroughs are only around ~40% of the story. Mass manufacturing, environmental issues, politics and other variables are the other 60% of the equation.

But I agree, nanotechnology has begun, and getting ready to explode on society in a big way. We are living in a very unique stage of the technology curve, I strongly believe we are in the unique plication of the exponential curve, and will accelerate quickly in the next handful of years. Older people (>40) may find it a bit too much.
