Theses things are very cool, I had made similar post in the BZ3 forums in reference to military robots.



I went back to find the original post featuring the quadcopter design but, to no avail.
It showed videos of theses things with AI thinking for themselves; recovering from purposeful disruption and negotiating impromptu obstacles.

I got a couple little cheap quadricopters for xmas.

Have to say I've probably had more fun flying those things around 9and torturing the cats) than anything.

They also came with "repair kits" which is a good thing, since my 6 year old trashed one of them already.

I still fly my little Symas around the house. Not at all like I did several months ago. The batteries are only good for about 4 minutes now. I've been through the entire gambit with them. . .stripping them down to nothing, even taking the tail off for more speed. I must have 100+ hours in 3-9 minute increments. I'm about as good as I'm going to get with indoor 3 channel helis.

I just found you can control a Parrot AR Drone with a Connexion Space Navigator and a laptop, as well as an Android phone now.

I knew about the android app, but the 3D mouse use looks pretty slick, too.

I can't remember though... does the droid app control use the built-in sensors where you'd just have to tilt the device or is it on-screen controls?
