With those average to low specs, it's only going to find a small specific notch in the gadget category, such as a compact server or portable backup device for a tablet or laptop.
Still it's kinda cool.

I can see Eddy going nuts for these.
It's definitely a niche product...but a product that could be customized to work with all sorts of 'regular' household appliances.
I think Eddy bought something like these recently with the goal of setting up a streaming media player in his kitchen.

It's light enough to integrate with the Hoverfly card, with its USB interface.
Someone might do similar and take the next step to true, out of line-of-sight, FPV flying. Reliable 4G connectivity is the last step.

I bought a couple of i.MX53 boards, very similar in design but have the Freescale processor. I have determined that a 10" Android tablet is cheaper and easier with an excellent UI so I'm not sure what I will do with these boards. I can get an adequate no-name tablet for $200-$250 and the upscale ones start at $300. The i.MX53 is $150, then add the cost of the touchscreen monitor and some sort of enclosure for both and you can see how the tablet wins out.

8" MoMo with 1.2ghz A10 processor for $159 - http://www.dinodirect.com/google-androi ... creen.html
I picked up one of these little guys as a christmas gift for a 8 yr old nephew and it's a great little device for less than $50. It plays angry birds better than my old Motorola backflip.

Yes the U.S. seems to have been shafted in regards to 4G. You have 3G plus, really.Blunt Force Trauma wrote:It's light enough to integrate with the Hoverfly card, with its USB interface.

All those people who wanted an iPad and got an android tablet instead are selling (presumably because android tablets are neither douchey or hipsterish enough)
Someone here is trying to sell their Acer Iconica a500.
I'd bite, but I'm holding out for an Asus Transformer Prime.
