Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
No, nothing like that, Objects and vehicles are geometrically fine, the textures just look messy (like someone took them into MS Paint and used the spray paint tool on them)Is this what you're talking about?
Image
My screenshots come out mostly black but just imagine this covering the recycler's textures
Dunno how to insert an image so here's a link

I'd enjoy that, though the next couple days my schedule is pretty erratic. If you're really hankering for a round, maybe I could help with that... the times I can be around is very strange though, I must warn you.
So Stock is the default game as it was released in 199X, not Kens 1.5.1.5 Patch. Regardless, I should be able to set up a game of that in the BzE servers as well.

Oh yuk, you done something wrong to the files.
Do a clean install.

What is your setup?

Battlezone in acid!
Stock refers to the game in all its retail glory.
Ken's patch is unofficial and technically not stock.

Well it is something of a patch....but with un-patch-like extras, and definitely unofficial.

Unofficial implies it's a legal mod, not pirate software and it is definitely pirate software.hitchcockgreen wrote:Well it is something of a patch....but with un-patch-like extras, and definitely unofficial.

Does it? I figured official would be condoned supported and issued by the copyright owner while unofficial would be anything else.Dx. wrote:

Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
You're trying to define unofficial with one broad stroke of a brush.
Unofficial releases are still within the scope of the end user lisence agreement, while illegal items are within the scope of the criminal code.

You mean the 911 servers, yes you can.Otaku-Senpai wrote:So Stock is the default game as it was released in 199X, not Kens 1.5.1.5 Patch. Regardless, I should be able to set up a game of that in the BzE servers as well.

Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
BZ 1.4, TRO, BZ 1.5 and BzE all use different server sessions.
Originally the ActiveNet servers were for a crapload of Activision games and each were granted their own 'session.' So one in TRO can't see players in BZ etc etc.
The 911 servers support all sessions, but if you create games/maps/etc for one, you won't be able to see players in another.

Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
The installers from here for BZ 1.4, and TRO goto the old BzE session, which is where 1.5.1 is now.

I should have amended that to say STOCK...hitchcockgreen wrote:BZ 1.4, TRO, BZ 1.5 and BzE all use different server sessions.

Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
I'm trying to run TRO, so there is no D3D9. The Other 2 (1.5 patch + BzE work fine)Oh yuk, you done something wrong to the files.
Do a clean install.
Run the D3D9 version.

1.5 and BzE are not tobe combined.
What OS are you on?
How did you install to get that picture.

Re: Maps, the map editor, and a glitch
I think she meant the separate installs work fine rather than trying to use 1.5 patch on BzE.
Come to think of it...is that even feasible?

I'm not sure what she meant so i was being more clear.Firestorm29 wrote:I think she meant the separate installs work fine rather than trying to use 1.5 patch on BzE.

Her picture of the game shows palettes and textures have changed so something she did caused it.
