Hello BZ club members

Hello BZ club members,

I used to play BZ back in the 90's and rediscovered it recently. A quick search done due to curiosity and I found battlezone1.org and 1.5 much more easily than your club.

I'm aware of some sort of community schism between your club and battlezone1.org; but I'd have it known that I am genuinely curious, not attempting to stir up trouble.

I have a few questions I'd like to ask...

· Is the same BZ 1.5 shared between the two communities?
· Is this BZ enhanced 1.3.4 an ongoing project that people are playing BZ through instead/along with 1.5?
· In summary, what is the cause of the animosity between BZ groups?

The reason I ask is because I am simply an old player who would love to reconnect with others and enjoy this remarkable game. I seek to understand the current BZ communities and hope to increase my opportunities to play the game.
If anyone here is authorized to PM I would enjoy hearing from you.

I don't believe anyone wants to reiterate it again.
When you play 1.5 eventually you'll get the picture.
Enjoy the games.

Hello Saturn,

Welcome to BZC! From our perspective, you are free to do what you want, play what you want and hang out with who you want. Unfortunately, that view is not held by the bz1.org moderator/server operator. He tends to ban anyone he finds posting here and playing BZE.

We tend to play BZE mostly but we do play 1.5 as well. If you haven't tried BZE yet, give it a shot and let us know what you think.

Also, do a quick search for servers.dat . The one listed here will show you the entire list of BZ servers available.

Saturn,
If you want to see a sample of the dirt from back then, check tomcats resent posts in Fight Club.
That is just the tip of the spear, far more went on from them.

1. Yes. Bz 1.5 is identical between these two forums, bzuniverse.org, and developer Ken Miller's own site.
2. BzE is an ongoing project. It uses a different server session so the two are somewhat isolated. Many of us play both.
3. Yikes. Long history, jealousy, hackers, and animosity. As FirBirGir pointed out, we don't care where you play or with whom. And like he also said, you won't get that same courtesy at bz1.org and the folks at bzu tend to be more bz2 players.

^ Pretty much what Green said.

You'll hit the end of your virtual road if you play BZE and are a member of BZ1.org, the admin (Spock) runs the forum like a dictator. This is not an overstatement. I was banned because I got busy with schoolwork, was moving, and disagreed with Spock. In fact, if you ever assist a player that's having trouble, he will step on your toes and attempt to proclaim he is the master and will take all the credit. I have an account over there that I still use to check up on the latest shenanigans, you aren't missing much.

If you want to be told that you cannot disagree with Spock, what you can and cannot play, and forced to play BZ a certain amount of hours each week, then BZ1.org is the choice.
If you want to play whatever you want, whenever you want, and not be judged, BZ Club is the choice.
