Raleigh had heat indexes ranging from 105F to a brief 118F Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Tropical Storm Debby dumped countless amounts of water in northern parts of Florida - it overflowed many of the natural springs & entire state parks are underwater.

I had 95F one day and 92F other days, another 95F to come.
We had 2 hot summers back in the 90's, this is pretty much the same.

So sad, the odds of me (26 years old) outliving the Earth (4 billion years old) does NOT look good, I give it less than 50/50; more on the lines of 40/60. Hopefully it will be quick & easy.

Nah the earth will outlive us all - its a matter of whether or not its livable for us in 50-100 years.
If you look at the geological history of the planet you'll see that its gone through some very very dramatic changes.

Most likely the only reason for the current incarnation of life is the planet being completely encased in ice for thousands and thousands of years (incubating under the ice around black smokers etc).
This fact alone makes Europa a very enticing destination for exploration.

That is exactly why the people crying "Global warming" is full of s**t.

Global warming I.e. climate change is happening.... it's whether or not humans are significantly contributing that gets debated.

Climate change has always happened.
And "global warming" has historically preceeded mini ice ages.

China is the wild card regarding how quickly global warming arrives in a big way in the next 20 years. It's an odd and selfish aspect of the whole issue. People of the advanced west are pumping CO2 and other pollutants in massive quantities, but only the US and China has the volume to make clear changes in the environment. China surpasses us in C02 emission/pollutants . . .BUT. . . and this is the true horror of what could come, China is ranked 44th of the per capita CO2 emitters! If China became anything close to a top-tier per capita emitter, there would be little debate on the subject. Sort of like when flat earthers were given so much empirical evidence the earth was round, they simply could not deny it any longer.

Begin Liberal logic

What do you mean there was already an ice age? The dinosaurs must have brought on the ice age themselves from their dino vehicles and unregulated water sources!

End Liberal logic

Actually was referring to the few mini ice ages that have occurred during relatively recent human history long after dinosaurs.

Any ice age before or after dinos is essentially a write off. The planet was so vastly different during those periods (dinosaur era and the era millions of years before them with predecessors to dinosaurs) that it was essentially alien.

Any discussion or argument that a starts citing time periods that old in the climate debate are irrelevant.

The only useful and comparable data is that of recorded human history which is fairly extensive.

Slapping "liberal" or "conservative" labels to the argument only muddles things. Especially since the American definitions are a** backwards from the rest of the world.

Not exactly but they are dependant on one another as in warming causes the change.

For anyone who doesn't believe in its existence I invite them to travel to Nunavut or the North West Territories to see how the permafrost is no longer "perma."
