New maps sent

Ok, 8 new maps, the maplist html, and the modded LOTG have been sent. hitchcockgreen, I got a "delivery failure" from your address, Dx received everything successfully, so maybe he can send you what you did not get. Existence was also sent a copy of the modified LOTG (it is his mod, after all), and he gets final say whether this is "officially released" or not, so obey his wishes if he makes his presence known.

I started putting up/migrating my site today. Not much there but a directory of folders. Have to mess around and get the subdomains set up later.

I have them now, 23MB in all, i'm surprized the second email didn't bounce back.

I'm really eager to see what Ssuser has done with LOTG. I remember finding that waaaay back and wondering if anyone else ever played it.

Yeah, the LOTG zip is pretty good size. Dx, can you try sending that stuff to hitchcockgreen? he didn't get at least some of it. I wonder if it has to do with the hotmail service, I sent you the files from another account. Before you try, verify he has the space to receive it though.

Excellent. Now as soon as you get your sitemap set and some links here we are in business.

BTW, anyone have any info on those missing maps I posted about before? I did scour the net for as much as I could, found some old stuff I thought was long gone, but a few things still elude me. Check the big html maplist file when you get time and let me know if there are errors or anything I might have missed putting in there.

Let me know when you try out the new LOTG, hitchcockgreen, I'd like your impressions.

What missing maps?

I was referring to some older maps that are no longer to be found anywhere, like rebelcom by megaman, offence1 by floating point, along with other stuff that has since "gone away".

It's not like the maps take up a huge amount of space, there needs to be a MASTER map directory that goes along with BZE & up to the players what maps to play - old & new.

I remember about 4 years ago there was bz sites with maps on them readily available for download

I have a sizable collection of maps, but I don't think I have any of these "lost maps."
I was messing around with my server last night and broke some of the redirection.
I'll get back to it tonight. At the very least there will just be a listing of folders full of maps sorted by type.

I used to have over 500 maps but a hard drive crash took care of that.

Checked what I have - there are over 300 files in that folder (IA maps, that is) not including the handful of TRO IA maps.
There are definitely duplicates in there and of course the zip files are named atrociously so sorting those out is going to be a nightmare.
Not sure if I have the lost maps or not.

I know it's a time consuming process, but the maps directory for the game should get looked at/maps added

Dx, don't you back up your stuff? A quick CD/DVD burn or a dump to a thumb drive every month or so will save you a lot of pain.

I was wondering, how many multiplayer maps in total have been released, both DM and strat? Anyone have even an approximate count for these?
