Re: Art Bell is coming back to radio
Cool. Art was about the only guy I could listen to about para-normal stuff.
He has that unique ability to challenge his guests with intelligent questions without humiliating them, but is willing to give them plenty of rope. And he is one of the few guys that is honest about this mega black triangle sighting he and his wife saw many years ago. He understands it's crazy, but he stands by it. At least the last I heard he did. Now that his wife has been dead awhile, I guess he figures radio is his only love left. . .

Re: Art Bell is coming back to radio
He had some great shows. Brought out the nutters in droves. Sometimes there were shows just way over the top. I used to listen quite frequently. George Snoory just couldn't keep the nutters happy because in my listening experience about halfway through the show he would offer a perfectly plausible alternative explanation for whatever the storyteller was trying to convey and it was like resetting back to square one. Some of my favorite guests - Phillip Kraph "The Challenge of Contact", Paul Coulbeck "The Granite Starship" and don't forget the story of Mel's Hole :0).

Art was always entertaining to listen to. I got the feeling that he thought most of his guests were on the kooky side but he treated them with respect and let them tell their stories.
I used to listen to him when I was on the road late a night. I haven't had to do that for a long time now so it's been 10+ years since I last listened to his show.

One of my favorite Art Bell shows is when he had Bod Lazar on to speak about working at area 51 and his hobby of making a car run on hydrogen. I was on the edge of my seat during the broadcast as I'm sure many of the listeners were, as he described an alien engine from a civilization approximately 100,000 more advanced than us that he was supposed to help reverse engineer and then describe his hydrogen car that i believe he won the competition of driving across country with. He gave many details and generated a considerable amount of interest that i think hounded Art until he left.

Bod Lazar's lab was raided by the Government, he said they took his hydrogen work so he had to redo it all.
He's in an old Nuke silo now.

Just where do you find a real estate listing for an old Nuke silo? Does the government use eBay or Zillow?

Ballard power systems were making hydrogen-powered buses in the early to mid 90s.
They moved on to include hydrogen power generators for condos. They were originally based out of Vancouver, but they've grown since then. I think they have hydrogen fuel cell powered double deckers in London now, as well.
Vancouver still has some hydrogen powered buses in their public transportation fleet. I think they're mostly for the university express routes.

Re: Art Bell is coming back to radio
I would like to see hydrogen make it to mass transportation. If it does happen, there will be an explosion (pun intended
) of cool stuff that will be done by hobbyists if hydrogen is made avaliable and cheap.
If the combustion components are stainless steel, you can drink the exhaust. You will have lighter than air craft everywhere. You will have safe sources of fuel for most everything. Some may think hydrogen is 'so dangerous and explosive' but it's actually MUCH safer than combustible petroleum products.

Re: Art Bell is coming back to radio
The problem, of course, is obtaining it in the first place. At the moment the best way is through electrolysis, which requires a ridiculous amount of energy.
