Most Likely We're a Simulation

Been having a time travel debate at another thread and I thought you guys might like an offshoot of the discussion. It's basically the current (as of maybe 12 years ago, but most specifically, the last 4 years or so) of what is a fast growing thesis on reality.

There's a fast growing theory that we're living in a simulation. But what "proof" do we have?

It started from an offshoot of the double slit experiment. The most simple explanation is; 'the subjective appearance of wave function collapse is explained by the mechanism of quantum decoherence. This is to resolve all of the correlation paradoxes of quantum theory, such as the EPR paradox, since every possible outcome of every event defines or exists in its own "history" or "world".

Meaning every wave collapse where Heisenburg's uncertainly principle and quantum decoherence would play a role, the universe 'splits' into another reality. In other words an infinite amount of alternate realities could be created every second throughout the universe if mass/gravity was not a restraint.

A more anthropic version is when consciousness (man) attempts to observe the wave collapse / ~quantum decoherence, the universe forks, as seen in one of the simplest, yet profound experiments in science. . . the double slit experiment. Here is the explanation. It's animated, but it's made clear and simple and clearly explains the weirdness.

Further examination of the phenomena now has been shown with little doubt that a "knower" or conscious observer can control quantum decoherence.

Yea, it's way more freaky than any science fiction you're likely to run across, yet is shown conclusively in the lab.

It has led many a quantum physics philosopher to speculate this is the "leak" or clue our consciousness is most likely a simulation running on some form of cosmic software.

Hey, I fully realize this sounds totally wacko, but it has been shown in the lab with strong verification and has been peer reviewed extensively.
