Militant Charity people

Post by Xtreme »

Went to kroger to buy some totally not gay at all stuff for a dinner.

When I got there, there was this dude ringing his bell for the salvation army right in front of the redbox movie rental.

well played, sir. now no one can go and rent a movie for $1 and not give money to charity as well without feeling like they're going to burn in hell.

you guys are playing hardball now with this charity business

So charities have picked up on what retailers have figured out. The Christmas season starts at 12 midnight after Hallowe'en?

lol yeah

And this one time, there was this cute little asian boyscout kid that was like, "would you like to buy some cookies and donate money to cancer?" or something to that effect and i was walking out of the ABC store with like a 750ml bottle of jager and i promptly was like, "no thanks" without realizing I spent like $20 on jager instead of $4 for cancer

Next time tell him you're a cancer researcher then scream "there's no hope!", start weeping, and run away.

Works every time.

Redbox can technically sue the Salvation Army guy for blocking their product. :o

There are retail laws requiring that a business showing the display have the product visible space be viewable by a certain degree/height/area. Some businesses require it for their products at stores and pay a shiny nickel to have it displayed that way...the most common placement are the aisle end caps. At least that's what I had to pay attention to when I worked retail.

Of course I don't think Redbox would want the headlines read "Redbox steals money from Charity."

Did you realize you could have also spent the $4 on this mans Karate lessons!??

lol you guys are just legal action crazy down there.

the whole "suing mcdonalds because i didn't know my coffee was going to be served hot" thing just takes the cake. Now we all have to have those warnings on coffee that say "Warning! Contents May Be Hot!"

Because, you know. I had no idea coffee was served hot. What is this, "coffee?"

P.S. I love homeless people with good signs. They deserve my money. Montreal gutter-punks? Absolutely not.

I know. But I'm thinking about telling him there's a 10 dollar bill around the corner, so that should buy me like just 12 seconds to hurry up and get my movie and leave

I swear to god it was the same guy at 8AM in the morning as it was at 9PM at night. he's f*** relentless

So does HitchcockBlue, but I wouldn't give him money if he was standing outside of a movie rental store with a bell....
